Psychotherapy

Hey there, a warm welcome to the psychotherapy page, here you can find information on what it might be like working with me as your therapist. I provide a space to safely express and explore emotional difficulties within a non-judgemental and confidential relationship.
I offer a free 15 minute introductory session with anyone interested in working with me. This gives us time to get to know each other and explore what you want out of therapy and see if my services may be useful to you.

About
Psychotherapy With Me
I work in a person-centred way, focusing on your experience and believing in you as the unique person you are.
I provide talking therapy, a space to safely express and explore emotional difficulties within a non-judgemental and confidential relationship. I am a trainee person-centred psychotherapist and a member of the UKCP, with experience working with a broad range of people, demographics and identities. Music only features in my work when clients wish to bring this into the room. You may like to think of me as a psychotherapist with a research interest.

FAQ's
Frequent Questions and Answers
Do I have to use music?
No! In fact most sessions do not involve music at all. You get to decide if or when you want to bring music into the session.
Please note I do not play live music or work with musical instruments in sessions. Instead I welcome client’s bringing in songs and music that you listen to.
Do you offer discounts?
I do not currently have any discounted sessions available.
I do hope to have some concessionary spaces in the future but in the mean time I can only offer the advertised session price.
Are you the right fit for me?
I provide therapy for anyone over the age of 18. You do not have to have a mental health diagnosis, the therapy I offer is for anyone who feels that they may benefit from therapy.
In the initial session we can discuss your needs and work out if we will be a good fit. If it doesn’t feel like we are a good match then I will do my best to signpost you to other services.
What will I get out of sessions?
During our 50 minute sessions, I will dedicate my time and expertise to developing an effective therapeutic relationship with you to support your emotional needs and concerns. I will provide you with the opportunity to safely express and explore any emotional difficulties within a non-judgemental and confidential relationship.
What is person-centred therapy?
Person-centred approach offers you empathy, unconditional positive regard (I accept and value you), and congruence (I am myself and honest with you).
We believe in ‘actualising’ – the idea that you can reach your full potential and become your true self.
To find out more about person-centred psychotherapy visit the UKCP website.
How many sessions do I need?
I don’t offer a maximum or minimum number of therapy sessions and usually work in an open-ended way. I will check in with you and regularly review how sessions are progressing. If you would prefer to decide a set number of sessions with me, I am happy to support you with this. Just let me know when you get in contact with me.
What are your qualifications?
I am currently studying for an MSc in Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy. In addition, I have an MA in Music and Music Psychology which I use to inform the support I can offer. Click here to read my industry CV.
Can I see you in-person?
Currently I am only offering online sessions via Microsoft Teams. This means to work with me, you would need to have a quiet space available and the technology to engage in online sessions.
Please check back in the future if you are hoping for in-person sessions as this is subject to change.
